Fredericksburg VA Keratin Treatments

Can I color my hair after a keratin treatment?
It is best to color your hair approximately two weeks before receiving a keratin treatment or wait two weeks after the treatment.  One of the hair color specialists at our Fredericksburg hair salon can help you choose the perfect hair color.

If I want a second keratin treatment a few months after the first, can I have a root touch up or do I need another complete treatment?

You will need to receive the treatment again from the roots to ends. The treatment will be increasingly more effective every time you receive it.

Should I have a haircut before or after a keratin treatment?

We recommend having a haircut after the keratin treatment.

Can I get the treatment done while pregnant or nursing?

We do not recommend this.

Can I go swimming in a pool or sea?
Salt water and chlorine will reduce the life span of your keratin treatment.  Salt water and chlorine can strip the keratin out of your hair more rapidly than regular tap water. When swimming in a pool or ocean, our hair salon recommends that you saturate your hair with a leave-in conditioner so that chlorine or salt water cannot be absorbed by the hair cuticle.
